A Timeless Tribute to Your Best Friend
Our pets are more than just animals; they are cherished family members, keepers of our secrets, and our most faithful companions. Nothing captures their unique spirit, warmth, and character quite like an original, hand-painted oil portrait.
Based on the Central Coast of NSW, I specialise in creating bespoke pet portraits that go beyond a simple likeness. My goal is to capture the "spark" in their eyes and the velvet of their fur, turning your favourite memories into a timeless feature for your home. Whether you are celebrating a new puppy, honouring a majestic horse, or seeking a soulful memorial for a dog or cat who has passed, a commissioned oil painting is a profound way to celebrate the bond you share.
The Artistry: Professional Oils on Archival Board
I work in a painterly realism style, ensuring your portrait looks remarkably life-like while retaining the beautiful, visible brushstrokes that only a hand-painted piece can offer.
I have moved exclusively to painting with professional oils on archival timber boards. This combination offers a sturdy, premium feel and a superior surface for fine detail.
-
Sophisticated Matte Finish: My oil paintings are finished with a beautiful matte surface. This ensures the artwork has a soft, contemporary feel with zero glare, allowing for perfect viewing from every angle of the room, regardless of your lighting setup.
-
Ready to Hang: Every painting arrives with finished edges and hanging hardware installed. There is no need for glass or framing, though a frame can be added later if you desire a traditional look.
-
Archival Quality: I use only the finest artist-grade pigments and traditional techniques, ensuring your investment remains as vibrant as the day it was painted for generations to come.
"Oh my gosh I actually just cried. What a fantastic job you’ve done Naomi, it’s absolutely perfect and you've left me speechless. Thank you so incredibly much!" ...Tayla G
How to order a pet painting.
The Commission Journey
I’ve designed my process to be simple, collaborative, and rewarding.
-
Consultation: We discuss your vision, the desired size, and whether you’d like a "Head Only" or "Full Body" portrait.
-
Reference Photos: You provide the inspiration. While I work from one main photograph, seeing several photos helps me understand your pet’s true appearance and colouring. Large, sharp, and clear photos lead to the most impressive results.
-
The Digital Mockup: Before I touch brush to board, I create a computer-generated layout for your approval. This ensures the composition is exactly what you envisioned.
-
The Painting Stage: Once the 50% non-refundable deposit is paid, the painting begins! Most portraits are completed within 4-6 weeks.
-
Final Approval: I will email you a photo of the completed painting. We can make minor adjustments at this stage to ensure it is perfect.
-
Delivery: After the final balance is settled, your painting is carefully bubble-wrapped and shipped via insured courier with tracking—Free within Australia.
"Oh Naomi 😍

I just LOVE it. It’s actually made me a bit emotional. So, so special."

Frequently asked questions.
Why Matte Oil on Board? Timber board provides a solid, archival surface that won't sag or tear over time. The matte finish is a modern choice that eliminates reflections, making the painting feel more like a part of the room's atmosphere rather than a shiny object behind glass.
Can you combine pets from different photos? Yes! I can take individual photos of different pets and recompose them into one harmonious, balanced painting.
How do I care for my oil painting? Oil paint on board is incredibly durable. Because of the matte finish, it is very easy to view in any light. To protect it, simply hang it away from direct sunlight or moisture. A gentle dust with a soft, dry cloth is all the maintenance it requires.
Who owns the copyright? As the artist, I retain the copyright to the image. While I don't usually reproduce images of domestic pets (dogs, cats, horses), I reserve the right to use the image for studio promotion. You own the physical painting for personal use.
What if I need the gift by a specific date?
Standard commissions take 4-6 weeks. If your deadline is sooner, please enquire about a Priority Rush Order (subject to studio availability). If we can't make the date, my digital gift vouchers are the perfect solution—they are delivered within 24hrs and allow the recipient to start the commission process at their leisure.
"Well, the reaction was unexpected….tears of joy, laughter, love….she was over the moon. Thanks again"
